The SCTE Technical Area.

	Welcome to the Technical Area of the SCTE website. This area consists of an up to date guide to the activities of the various standards bodies working within the cable telecommunications industry plus technical reference information. All the other pages in this section are password protected for Members only. If you are not a member of the SCTE please go to the non-members area for details of how to join.

We recommend that you refer to this handbook if you wish to see a printed version of this information as these pages cannot be guaranteed to print in a proper format.


	MPT Standards Part 8 of BS EN50083 deals with emc for cable networks and the UK has an A-deviation based on MPT1510 and MPT1520. An A-deviation allows a country to apply its own emc specifications if they are a legal requirement and exceed the requirements of the harmonised standard. The SCTE has obtained copies of MPT1510 and MPT1520 along with MPT1570 and you can download them in pdf format. These specifications are Crown Copyright and made available in electronic form by kind permission of Ofcom.
