SCTE Technological Innovation Awards

The SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) held its prestigious 2010 Awards for Technological Innovation at its annual Gala Dinner on Saturday 24 April 2010 at the unique venue of Lincoln's Inn Great Hall in London.

The awards, open to the entire broadband industry, are for technological innovation in the broadband arena and may be for a product, system or concept. The item nominated must have been introduced into the marketplace between 1 January 2009 and 31 December 2009. Shortlisted and winning companies/products in the three separate award categories are:-

Technetix (Discoverable Switchable Tap System) – third place
Teleste (IRSnet solution) – runner-up

Winner of category: Aurora Networks (RFPON solution)

PPC (Ex Plus product) – third place
JDSU (DSAM DOCSIS 3.0) – runner-up

Winner of category: Technetix (POF self installation Ethernet kit)

Harmonic Inc (ACETM transcoding technology) – runner-up

Winner of category: RGB Networks (Video Multiprocessing Gateway)

The best overall submission received the SCTE 2010 Technological Innovation of the Year Award. The winner was RGB Networks for its Video Multiprocessing Gateway.
Founded in 1945, the SCTE is a Learned Society and non-profit making organisation whose aim is to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the telecommunications industry. The Society particularly concerns itself with the training and career advancement of technical professionals in the field.
