SCTE Individual Awards The SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) held its prestigious 2010 Individual Achievement Awards at its annual Gala Dinner on Saturday 24 April 2010 at the unique venue of Lincoln's Inn Great Hall in London. The categories awarded this year are for Technician of the Year and Member of the Year. All members of the Society received nomination forms and voting was possible via the website. The shortlist for the first two categories was decided purely by the number of nominations received, with the Executive Committee adjudicating on the final winners | |||

The SCTE-Benelux Group Elects New Committee Rien Baan, Secretary to the SCTE-Benelux Group reports that, at its meeting in October this year, a new committee was elected. The Benelux group is a self administered sub-committee of the SCTE Executive and is responsible for coordinating Society activities in the Benelux countries including the organisation of lectures such as those at IBC every year. |

The De Vere Wokefield Park, near Reading in Berkshire, was booked for Tuesday 12th August 2008 and it turned out to be a great team event. |

A night to remember - SCTE Dinner and Dance July 2008 SCTE members enjoyed an action-packed networking trip with the SCTE’s Dinner and Dance Riverboat Evening on 12 July 2008. They spent the evening cruising along the River Thames in London, eating and drinking, whilst enjoying live entertainment (a band and dancing) late into the night. A welcome-aboard drink and four-course meal for participants were included. |

At SCTE’s Spring Lecture, held at Savoy Place on 2 April 2008, six speakers gave the assembled members their insight into design, construction, management, maintenance and upgrading of CATV networks with the overarching theme of ‘Moving Cable Forward’. |
