SCTE Summer Lecture Meeting

The SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) will be holding its Summer Lecture Meeting on Broadband Technologies at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, near Cambridge, on 28 July 2010.

The European cable industry is pushing ahead with higher-speed broadband, Voice over IP, VOD, TV-on-demand, PVR and HDTV. Today’s cable professional needs to be aware of a range of different issues such as standards, installation, distribution, cost, service differentiation and network monitoring challenges. SCTE’s new Summer Lecture at Duxford will address these and other issues.

Duxford is Europe's premier aviation museum as well as having one of the finest collections of tanks, military vehicles and naval exhibits in the UK. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy a morning of technical lecture presentations, followed by lunch and an official tour of Duxford and its aviation exhibits and memorabilia by SCTE Publications Committee Chairman, David Hall.

The Lecture meeting, including lunch and tour of the museum, is free to SCTE members. The price for non-members is £50 + VAT. If you are interested in attending or presenting at the SCTE Summer lecture, please e-mail the SCTE office at office@scte.org.uk.

Founded in 1945, the SCTE is a Learned Society and non-profit making organisation whose aim is to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the telecommunications industry. The Society particularly concerns itself with the training and career advancement of technical professionals in the field.
