Three sponsors support SCTE’s Balkan lecture meeting

SCTE is delighted to announce that three sponsors – Nagravision, Alcatel-Lucent and IPKO - are supporting its 2009 Balkan lecture meeting. The first Balkan lecture meeting, in conjunction with the SCTE’s Balkans training partner HMConsult LLC, will take place on 1 October 2009 at Vermicë-Prizren (Kosovo) with a theme of ‘Taming Digital Networks’.

The advent of IPTV, VoIP and peer-to-peer have heralded many new challenges for the cable industry. The European cable industry is pushing ahead with higher-speed broadband, Voice over IP, VOD, TV-on-demand, PVR and HDTV. Today’s cable professional needs to be aware of a range of different issues such as standards, installation, distribution, cost, service differentiation and network monitoring challenges.

SCTE Benelux Lectures at IBC

Once again the SCTE Benelux Group organised a series of lectures at IBC in Amsterdam on the afternoon of Monday 15th September.  The session was be held in Room A at the RAI Congress Centre. The general theme was ‘Challenges for Cable in the Broadband Era’.

Lectures from leading engineers in our industry are a regular feature of the Society's programme. The Society provides a platform at which topics concerning all members are presented and members can air their problems, share their experiences and exchange their knowledge and opinions.
 

2008 Autumn Lecture Meetings

The Society will hold its Autumn Lecture Meeting and AGM on Tuesday 7th October at the IET building in Savoy Place, London. Full information here.

2008 Spring Lecture Meeting

SCTE members, seeking the latest technological updates, head for the SCTE lectures every Spring and Autumn at the IET in Savoy Place, London. At SCTE’s Spring Lecture, held at Savoy Place on 2 April 2008, six speakers gave the assembled members their insight into design, construction, management, maintenance and upgrading of CATV networks with the overarching theme of ‘Moving Cable Forward’. 2006 Lecture Meetings

The Autumn Lecture Meeting and AGM took place on the 5th October in London.  Members are able to download presentations or watch the webcast of the event by clicking on the relevant link.

On 12th September, the Benelux Section held its lecture meeting at IBC 2006. In a new innovation, members can now listen to or watch the lectures together with slideshows of the presentations.

On 21st March, 2006, the Benelux Section held a lecture meeting on the theme HDTV. More details and the chance for Members to download the presentations.

On 4th April, 2006, the Spring Lecture Meeting was held at the IEE in London. More details and the chance for Members to download the presentations.
