SCTE LAUNCHES NEW BALKANS LECTURE MEETING
SCTE, the Society for Broadband Professionals, is launching a new series of its popular broadband lecture meetings in the Balkans region. The first Balkan lecture meeting, in conjunction with the SCTE’s Balkans training partner, HM ConsultLLC, will take place on 1 October 2009 at Vermicë – Prizren (Kosovo) with a theme of ‘Taming Digital Networks’.
Today’s cable professional needs to be aware of a range of different issues such as standards, installation, distribution, cost, service differentiation and network monitoring challenges. SCTE lecture meetings offer the opportunity to learn about the latest broadband technical developments, network with technical broadband professionals and interact with speakers.
SCTE is a highly regarded and well known broadband training organisation in the Balkans. The SCTE 2009 Balkan Broadband conference was supported and endorsed by the Kosovo Ministry of Telecommunications and attended by the Deputy Minister of Post-Telecommunications.

The SCTE stages lecture meetings four times per year at the IET in London and through its Benelux Group at selected European venues (including IBC this year). Founded in 1945, the SCTE is a Learned Society and non-profit making organisation whose aim is to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the telecommunications industry.
