The SCTE Archive

What is this page? One advantage of the Internet is that it makes it possible to provide archive material to a wide range of people rather than leaving it on dusty shelves. This section is to do just that. Of course, the process of going through the dusty shelves to extract material is a lengthy one so this section will start small and grow as more material is studied and prepared for the site.

	History of the SCTE In 2005, the Society of Cable Telecommunication Engineers will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee. Click the menu on the left or follow this link to a summary of those sixty years.

Executive Committee The Society is run by an Executive Committee made up of volunteers who either carry out the work of the Society directly or direct the activities of paid staff and contractors. Without the time given up by members of the Executive Committee the Society could not have functioned since 1945 nor continue to function now and in the future. Follow the link to see a full list of Executive Committee Members arranged by length of service.

	SCTE Officers The Executive Committee appoints three officers, President, Vice-President and Treasurer, and a Secretary to undertake the day to day running of the Society. Follow this link for a full list of the Officers of the SCTE from its formation to the present day.

SCTE journal Articles The Society journal has always published a number of technical articles reporting the latest developments or discussing basic principles. All of these articles are of historical interest but many are still of technical relevance. A full listing of all technical articles since 1945 is available on this site. Click the 'Broadband' link on the left or follow this link for details of the most recent CTE technical articles and access to the full listings.

	If you have any material relating to early Society activities or memories of such events and would be willing to make them available for the website, please contact the President.

Photo Archive In the Social section of this site is a photo gallery containing pictures taken at SCTE and other events, lecture meetings, social events and industry gatherings. In this section, you can find photos from some less recent events. The Photo Archive is intended to ensure that the pictorial history of the Society is available to all members.

	Lecture Meetings and Conventions. This archive contains some of the pages relating to older lecture meetings or industry conventions. Please note, that menus on these pages will not be updated so you may find broken links. Pages available are; The SCTE Eurolecture held in 2002. IBC 2002.
